Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has several more enemies that weren’t in Breath of the Wild. Since Link and Zelda awoke the ancient evil in the Depths underneath Hyrule Castle, new evil like Constructs, Frox, and Gleeoks have invaded the world. While Gleeoks have been in previous Zelda games, this is the first time this Link has seen these massive, flying, three-headed dragon-like things, players will want to battle as many of them as possible. There are a grand total of 13 Gleeoks located around Hyrule currently known in Tears of the Kingdom.



Updated October 18th, 2023: Tears of the Kingdom continues to be one of the best games of the year, offering up an incredible open world for players to explore. This time around, Link has to contend with massive beasts known as Gleeoks. These hulking dragons can drop excellent weapon materials and other items so players will want to be sure to hunt them down when they have the chance. To better help in locating all the Gleeoks and King Gleeoks in the game, the following guide has been updated with a video.


Tears of the Kingdom Gleeok Locations on the Surface of Hyrule

Gleeoks have a long history in the Zelda franchise. These massive enemies have shown up in the original Legend of Zelda, Oracle of Seasons, Phantom Hourglass, and even the CDI Zelda titles Wand of Gamelon and Faces of Evil. In Tears of the Kingdom, they can be found on the surface of Hyrule, in the Depths, and also in the skies on the new Sky Islands of Hyrule. Here are all the surface locations of these massive enemies.

Thunder Gleeok in the Coliseum Ruins in Central Hyrule

Find the first Gleeok located at the Coliseum Ruins in Hyrule near the Great Plateau at -1126, -1242, 0047.

Flame Gleeok on Lake Hylia in Central Hyrule

At -0023, -2508, 0039, there is a Flame Gleeok. This is the center of the bridge that runs over Lake Hylia in southern part of central Hyrule.

Frost Gleeok on Gerudo Summit in Gerudo Highlands

In the Gerudo Highlands, around -3916, -0968, 0711, players will find both the Side Quest about the Gerudo Canyon Stable’s giant sword and a Frost Gleeok. Make sure to bring both anti-freeze potions and some cold weather gear along for this fight.

Frost Gleeok over Tabatha Frontier in Tabantha

This Frost Gleeok can be seen flying over the Tabantha Tundra, near where Zelda’s golden horse can be found. Look for it near 1828, 2984, 0239.

Frost Gleeok on Biron Snowshelf in Gerudo Highlands

There is a large overhang in the Hebra Mountains called the Biron Snowshelf around -3727, 2951, 0335. There is a Frost Gleeok located there.

Flame Gleeok on Ancient Columns in Tabantha

If players have unlocked all the Great Fairies in Tears of the Kingdom, they may have already found this Gleeok; it is above the area near the Tabantha Great Bridge at -3561, 0414, 0270.

Thunder Gleeok on Herin Lake South in Faron

A Thunder Gleeok can be found in Faron’s jungle around 1113, -3586, 0066.

Thunder Gleeok in Akkala Citadel Ruins in Akkala

In Akkala to the west of Tarrey Town and south of the Akkala Citadel Ruins, players can find another Thunder Gleeok. Players can find it at 3413, 1367, 0337.

Flame Gleeok on Spectacle Rock in the Gerudo Desert

The last surface Gleeok is a flame Gleeok, found at -2146, -2622, 0368. This is in the heights of the Gerudo Desert; look near the Labyrinth in the area to find it.

Tears of the Kingdom Gleeok Locations in the Depths of Hyrule

There is only one Gleeok in the Depths; this King Gleeok can only be found in the Gleeok Den, which is located directly underneath the Thyphlo Ruins in Hyrule north of the Lost Woods at 0202, 3120, -0623. King Gleeoks are far more dangerous than the regular Gleeoks because they have a fire head, a frost head, and a lightning head to contend with.

Tears of the Kingdom King Gleeok Locations in the Skies of Hyrule

If players come across any Gleeoks in the sky islands, it is guaranteed to be a King Gleeok. There are a total of three of these, each in the far corners of the game’s massive map.

King Gleeok in Hebra Mountain’s Skies

Players can find the King Gleeok of Hebra’s skies at -4420, 2297, 1246. The best way to get to this dragon-like Gleeok is to start at Tears of the Kingdom‘s Wind Temple and use the ships to bounce over to the sky island. Players will most likely need a couple of stamina foods to get there.

King Gleeok in Gerudo Desert’s Skies

The second King Gleeok is located above the Gerudo Desert’s Lightning Temple. The best way to get there is to use the Skyview Tower in the Gerudo Highlands to launch into the air and sail to this out-of-the-way sky island at -4435, -2555, 1413.

King Gleeok in Necluda’s Skies

The final of the sky’s King Gleeok is located above the skies of Necluda. This Gleeok can be accessed by riding up the Skyview Tower on Mount Lanayru up and use the paraglider south to 4621, -3665, 1058.
