The HoYoverse RPG has already introduced a wide cast of unique characters to its roster, with more than 30 characters available to acquire. The Version 1.3 update would add two new five-star characters in Imbibitor Lunae and the recently-released Fu Xuan, as well as a new four-star unit with Lynx. Now, HoYoverse’s newest trailer is giving fans a special look at two upcoming characters.
With just a few weeks remaining until Version 1.4’s launch, Honkai: Star Rail has already given players something to look forward to with several characters on the way. HoYoverse would reveal Topaz and Jingliu as the two newest characters joining the game, with the latter heavily teased through the story of the Xianzhou Luofu. The update will also bring a new four-star character with Guinaifen’s release, with rumors suggesting the game may also welcome its first re-run banner during Version 1.4. HoYoverse’s newest trailer is looking to get fans excited for its next characters.
A new Honkai: Star Rail video shared as part of this year’s Tokyo Game Show would feature brief teasers for both Topaz and Jingliu. Jingliu makes a brief appearance during a segment featuring several of the five-star characters from the Xianzhou Luofu. Topaz appears in a fully voiced segment at the end of the trailer, overlooking the city of Belobog on Jarilo-IV and making reference to her “picking up the tab.” Both characters are expected to release in Version 1.4, currently believed to be launching on October 11.
While HoYoverse has yet to officially reveal gameplay for either character, the developer has already given teasers about their playstyle. HoYoverse’s initial announcement confirmed Topaz will launch as a Fire character in the Hunt Path, suggesting she will heavily focus on single-target damage. Jingliu was confirmed to be an Ice Destruction character, bringing damage and versatility to Star Rail‘s cast. Leaks have also revealed the gameplay for Jingliu and Topaz, giving a closer look at the RPG’s next new characters.
Topaz and Jingliu’s recent teaser comes as HoYoverse has yet to reveal many details about Honkai: Star Rail‘s next update. Based on the developer’s previous trends, Version 1.4’s Special Program is expected to air on September 29, giving players an idea of what to expect from the patch. Leaks and rumors have hinted at several pieces of new content potentially coming in Version 1.4, including both the game’s first re-run and Honkai: Star Rail‘s first character skin.
