How to Change Announcer Voice
[ad_1]
In Mortal Kombat 1, announcer voices are cosmetic items that alter the game’s narrator once unlocked. To change the announcer’s voice, players need to complete specific objectives in Story Mode and Invasion. However, fans are curious about how to change the announcer’s voice, as only the default voice from previous games appears to be available. This guide provides a quick explanation of how to change the announcer’s voice in MK1 and clarifies the process of unlocking new voices.
Announcer Voice Settings
To change the announcer’s voice in Mortal Kombat 1, players will need to head to Settings > Video & Audio > and toggle the voice under the Audio Setup tab. By default, the announcer is the familiar narrator from previous MK games. But players can change it after unlocking new presenters.
While all announcers have similar lines, Johnny Cage announces Kombatants with nicknames. For instance, he calls Kitana “Mini Mileena,” “Fancy Face,” and “Mom’s Favorite.”
How to Unlock New Announcer Voices
In Mortal Kombat 1, players unlock new announcer voices by advancing in Story and Invasion Modes. Specifically, the first voice is rewarded for completing the Invasion Mode tutorials, the second voice is earned by beating chapter 7 of the story, and the final voice is a perk for reaching level 50.
In total, there are four announcers in MK1: Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Geras, and Shang Tsung. Here’s how to unlock each.

Mortal Kombat 1 Announcer Voice Actors
The default announcer is none other than Jamieson Price, who’s announced Kombatants since Mortal Kombat 9. However, the voice actors for the new announcers are as follows: Alan Lee voices Shang Tsung, Matthew Yang King voices Liu Kang, Andrew Bowen voices Johnny Cage, and Phil LaMarr voices Geras.
Although Jean-Claude Van Damme is an alternate Johnny Cage voice, he is not an announcer in Mortal Kombat 1.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available now for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
