Cyberpunk 2077: How to Distract Enemies
[ad_1]
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world RPG that takes players to the futuristic and political world of Night City. They enter the city as a hired merc named V and, through a series of unfortunate events, end up with a deadly engram in their heads containing the living personality of Johnny Silverhand.
V will be recruited for various missions, gigs, and side jobs throughout the city while they try to solve their Johnny problem. Many of these quests will require stealth or combat to succeed. Players who choose the silent route can distract their enemies in Cyberpunk 2077 to get the upper hand in what will often be dangerous situations.
How to Distract Enemies
Cyberpunk 2077 allows players to equip themselves with physical and neuro-technology that gives them special abilities. Cyberware isn’t their only option, with plenty of high-powered ranged and melee weapons available, but those who want to test their Netrunner skills can take advantage of it.
Netrunners can hack into buildings, equipment, security systems, and personal cyberdecks. Players can use their visual scanner to detect what kind of quickhacks they can input to what they’re targeting.
A pre-installed quickhack is the Distract Enemies option on generators, floodlights, vending machines, and other common equipment. These items will be strategically placed near guards. Here are the steps to use Distract Enemies:
- Scan an item
- Select Distract Enemies from the list of quick hacks
- Wait for the hack to take effect
Once the quick hack deploys, nearby guards will investigate. This can give V time to go around someone or sneak up behind them to grab them. Players can use Distract Enemies on multiple pieces of equipment depending on their available RAM. RAM is determined by player level, perks, and installed Cyberware.
The Intelligence Skill Tree has the essential Cyberdeck abilities that make quick hacks more efficient. Players can use Distract Enemies on the same item more than once after the cooldown period and when their RAM restores itself.
Players aren’t limited to technological means of distraction in Cyberpunk 2077. They can use their environment and weapons to get the guards’ attention. Using a ranged weapon with a silencer to shoot something may draw attention. If players take someone down and leave their body, it may distract others who find it, although this alerts them that someone is in the area.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
