One issue with finding historical sites is that they only appear at the closest zoom level on the map. Players don’t need to get close to them for them to appear on the compass, but this issue can make them tricky to locate. This map shows all 11 historical sites, including the one that’s out on the Tigris River.

Dhimmi (Non-Muslims)

This historical site is on the roof of a building west of the Monastery of the Virgins. It unlocks a codex about Dhimmi, a collective term for the Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians who made up a significant part of the population of the Abbasid Empire.

Taxes

Look for this site at the front entrance to the Tax Collector’s Mansion. It mentions how the Abbasid Caliphate had a single tax for Muslims, two taxes for Dhimmi, and a tariff on goods that affected everyone.

Players may have trouble finding this historical site, which is on top of a crane south of Qasr Salih. The Abbasid Caliphate wasn’t the only major Islamic power during its era: the survivors of the Umayyad Caliphate still ruled in the Iberian Peninsula, and the Fatimid Caliphate would rise out of North Africa as the Abbasid empire waned.

Baghdadi Exports

This historical site appears to be out in the water in the map, but it’s actually at the top of a ship’s mast. Be careful when approaching this site, because parts of the docks are forbidden to enter. While Baghdad was important as a trading hub on the Silk Road network, it also produced coins so reliable that other empires used them as currency, and their artisans made fine rugs and ceramics prized throughout the world.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
