Genshin Impact Player Points Out One of the Game’s Worst Items

A Genshin Impact player has pointed out one of the worst items in the RPG, the elemental potions players can craft with the in-game alchemy system. HoYoverse’s flagship RPG boasts a wide variety of items with each one bearing a different purpose within the massive game, ranging from resources for leveling characters to the wealth of Food items within Genshin Impact. Many of Genshin Impact‘s items, like the Sweet Madame and Primogems, have even become inside jokes within the community. One fan, however, is pointing out a less popular set of items.

Genshin Impact‘s in-game crafting system offers plenty of utility for players looking to boost their characters and explore the world. The in-game alchemy tables are regularly used in conjunction with Talent and Ascension materials, with players able to craft high-level materials by expending their weaker items. Alchemy tables can even be used to craft special gadgets, like the Oculus Resonance Stones allowing players to track down regional Oculi and the Treasure Compasses for hunting down chests. Genshin Impact‘s potions, on the other hand, are a less popular choice for many players.

Reddit user Juliancito135 pointed out the under-utilized items on the Genshin Impact subreddit, asking players if anyone remembers Genshin Impact‘s elemental elixirs. The post refers to the elemental elixirs players can create using the game’s Alchemy tables, with two elixirs per element offering increased Elemental defense or damage. The potions are an often-forgotten part of Genshin Impact‘s gameplay, with minimal effects that are typically not worth the cost of crafting. One fan negatively compared the potions to Genshin Impact‘s single Resistance Artifact sets.

Many fans in the comments agreed with the poster’s sentiment about the under-effective items. Some alluded to the usefulness of the potions during the RPG’s early game, citing that Genshin Impact‘s overworld is “too easy” to require the potions at higher levels. Others suggested different ideas to help make the items useful, such as allowing players to use the elemental potions when challenging Genshin Impact‘s Spiral Abyss. A few insightful Genshin Impact players also noted that the potions can be used effectively within some of the game’s combat events, especially when attempting to clear higher difficulties.

Complaints about Genshin Impact‘s underused potions come alongside criticism about Genshin Impact‘s endgame. More endgame content within Genshin Impact has been a common request from fans, with many feeling that the Spiral Abyss grind can become tedious and tiresome. Requests have also come on the back of HoYoverse’s other major recent release, with Honkai: Star Rail boasting a multitude of modes like Simulated Universe and Forgotten Hall. While fans continue to request more difficult content, the game’s elemental potions will likely remain a relic of Genshin Impact‘s early game.
