Fortnite OG Includes Timed Item Shop Cosmetics

Fortnite OG is all about reliving the past, but it seems like gamers might not be able to do it for long, as most of its cosmetic items won’t return in the future. Chapter 1’s island is considered by many fans to be the most iconic map. The OG Fortnite map was around for over two years, and it was during this time that a major part of the community first tried out the game. So, there’s no doubt that there is a lot of nostalgia and good memories surrounding the idea of the OG Athena Island.

Around a month before the end of Chapter 4 Season 4, leaks and rumors started circulating around the community that players would be able to play on the Chapter 1 map. These claims were supported by the fact that Kado Thorne’s in-game time machine displayed the start date of Season 5. Nolan Chance and his heist squad stole the time machine and brought it back to Frenzy Fields, and this is when props from Fortnite Chapter 1 started to appear near this POI. As the season neared its end, more teasers were released, and eventually, Epic Games unveiled that Fortnite was going back in time and returning to Chapter 1 Season 5, as many fans already suspected.

Fortnite OG Season is here, and gamers can finally enjoy their favorite Chapter 1 map locations and items once again. To really give players the feeling they had playing Fortnite back then, Epic Games is changing tons of UI features to what they once were, including the look of the lobby and Item Shop. Epic revealed in a recent blog post that the Item Shop will be called the OG Shop during the current season, and it will feature remixed versions of classic skins. However, fans were surprised to learn that these cosmetics will only be available for a limited time.

According to the blog post, some of the Fortnite cosmetics featured in the OG Shop won’t return to the Item Shop, so it’s likely that these are exclusive to gamers who purchase them during the OG Season. This means that if players spot an item that they enjoy, they might want to get it before it’s gone for good.

Epic Games mentioned that the Fortnite OG Pass will be available until December 2, 2023, at 10 PM ET. Since this is a shorter season, it’s likely that this is the end date of the OG Season.
