One Starfield gamer cleverly designed their spaceship to look like Bulbasaur from Pokemon. Just a week after the official release of the game, the character and spaceship customization tools within Starfield are giving players virtually limitless possibilities, and the community is implementing them to make all sorts of pop culture-inspired content.
Starfield is just the latest in the line of Bethesda-developed and published RPGs with extensive character and vehicle creation tools. Fans often like to share their creations across social media, and many of them feature designs inspired by films, television shows, and even other video games. This isn’t even the first ship designed to look like a Pokemon. One fan made their Starfield ship look like Blastoise, and now another ship inspired by the same Generation’s Grass-Type starter Pokemon has also been made.
Using the extensive creation and customization tools within Starfield, Reddit user itzdhruv created their very own Bulbasaur-themed ship. They shared their creation with the community and credited YouTube Creator CurtisBuilds with the actual layout of the ship. However, itzdhruv took this idea and added the colors and designs needed to create the aesthetic of the Grass-Type starter Pokemon.
The home ship features the colors of the Grass-Type Pokemon as well as its face and even the design of the green plant bulb on its back. The name of the ship is aptly, “Bulbasaur.” As one commenter stated, the amount of time, creativity, and in-game money that must go into a project like this is impressive. Starfield‘s character creation could be its genre-defining feature, but its ship creation tools are equally spectacular.
This level of customization isn’t new for Bethesda RPGs, either. The Fallout community tends to create all sorts of pop culture-inspired characters whenever a new entry in the franchise is released. For example, one gamer even recreated Better Call Saul‘s main character Saul Goodman in Fallout 76.
The creation and customization options are merely one aspect of this incredibly deep and lengthy sci-fi RPG as well. While the main campaign can technically be completed in under 20 hours, it is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Starfield. Unsurprisingly, many players are spending considerable amounts of time just on the character creation screen alone. Even more hours are being poured into creating and designing spaceships. Not to mention, Starfield‘s best mods are also giving the game some added replayability.
Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
