Every Member Of Konoha 11 That Flopped

[ad_1]

Highlights

  • Kiba Inuzuka and Rock Lee were underwhelming characters in the Naruto series, as their importance and relevance dwindled as the story progressed.
  • Shino Aburame, Hinata Hyuga, and Choji Akimichi also suffered from neglect and lack of development, making them flops among the Konoha 11.
  • Tenten was the greatest flop of the group, with her character lacking depth and her goals and potential never fully realized.

The Konoha 11 is a powerful group of ninjas of Naruto’s generation, consisting of Shinobi from the many teams. This group, excluding Sasuke, included Team 7, Team 8, Team 10, and of course, Team Guy.

All of these ninjas were branded to be the future of Konoha and they certainly carried immense talent. While quite a lot of them ended up meeting the expectations and rising to the next level, there were others who, for one reason or another, were underwhelming and certainly not as interesting to witness across the story.

6 Kiba Inuzuka

Kiba Inuzuka

One of the most underwhelming characters in the entirety of Naruto is Kiba of the Inuzuka Clan. Kiba was a member of Team 8 and certainly a very interesting character at the beginning of the series. He also fought against Naruto Uzumaki in the Chunin exams, and certainly held his own.

In fact, he also played a great role in the Sasuke Retrieval arc, however, from there onwards, his importance in the story dwindled. He was turned into a mere joke by the time of the Fourth Great Ninja War, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he became irrelevant. As a member of Konoha 11, he definitely flopped.

5 Shino Aburame

Anime Beastmasters- Shino Naruto

Shino was quite an underrated character in the first part of Naruto. Although he barely ever got his flowers, Shino was always the calm and composed one who kept his true strength to himself. He was seen fighting some very impressive battles in the Chunin Exams, and more importantly, later on in the story, he also fought against Kankuro.

Even though he got small moments here and there in the war, Shino was largely neglected as a character and it was quite clear to see that the author didn’t really care about him. With that, he became one of the Konoha 11 flops.

4 Hinata Hyuga

Naruto Hinata Hyuga

While Hinata certainly received better treatment than the likes of Kiba, she was still a largely neglected character. Her character arc started incredibly well as she fought against Neji, using Naruto as her inspiration. She tried her best to not just fight against her cousin but, at the same time, prove to the world that she was a capable fighter as well.

Hinata did phenomenally well in her fight, however, after that, her role in the story dwindled quite a bit. Even though she played an important role in Pain’s Assault Arc, she was only used to trigger Naruto Uzumaki’s true power. In the war, she did not do anything significant and, at the end of it all, despite all the talent that she possessed, she ended up becoming a housewife and gave up her ninja duties. As a Konoha 11 member, Hinata definitely flopped.

3 Rock Lee

Rock Lee was quite clearly a fan favorite at the beginning of the story. His story arc was compelling and moved the fans, since quite a lot of people could relate to him. His fight against Gaara reverberates through history even now, however, that is all that this character has to himself.

Rock Lee was largely neglected in the second part of Naruto and his story arc was largely left untouched. All the fans were extremely disappointed at seeing how he was treated and even though he is strong and still has a very interesting story, he can only be considered a flop of the Konoha 11.

2 Choji Akimichi

Naruto Choji Big-1

Choji was never the most interesting character in Naruto and fans did not care about him all that much. However, despite all that, he did receive quite some attention in the beginning of Naruto. Even then, however, he was largely uninteresting. In the Sasuke Retrieval mission, fans did get a very interesting fight centered around him, however, this was the last that the fans saw of him in action for a very long time.

While he did get his moments here and there in the war, he was largely irrelevant and his story became even more boring as the plot continued. Fans couldn’t seem to care enough because Kishimoto never put all that much effort into his character.

1 Tenten

Tenten Sidelined

Quite easily, the greatest flop in the entirety of Konoha 11 was Tenten. She was introduced as a member of Team Guy and, given that this team had an extra year of experience over all others, fans expected great things from them. Neji and Lee certainly lived up to those expectations, however, Tenten did not. This was a very confusing decision, largely because Kishimoto does not know how to write his female characters properly.

What made this character even more appalling was the fact that she had her own goals at the beginning. She wanted to become a ninja like Tsunade, however, the two were not even seen interacting once in the entire series. Tenten mastered quite a bunch of weapons, but that was all that was there to her character. In fact, even her own teacher, Guy, did not pay any attention to her and was solely focused on Lee. She was failed as a ninja by her superiors and, as a result, she ended up flopping as a member of Konoha 11.
