A slight change to one of the maps already live in Call of Duty: Warzone has been discovered by a user on Reddit, indicating a new night map may be on the way for the battle royale game. Call of Duty: Warzone has undergone several changes throughout the years by introducing different events, weapons, and maps to the battle royale title, so the possibility for the addition of a night map isn’t far-fetched.
Despite the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 10, the support for Call of Duty: Warzone is still as strong as ever. With Warzone being one of the most competitive multiplayer games out there, the title is constantly undergoing new changes in terms of buffs, nerfs, and new content being added for players both new and old. Since Warzone is a free-to-play title, different events are released to retain the player’s attention. A discovery on one of the maps by a Reddit user has started some speculation as to what it could mean for the future of the battle royale game.
Reddit user u/McCloudUK noticed a change for one of the buildings on the map Al Mazrah, possibly indicating a new map variant coming for Call of Duty: Warzone. More specifically, a night version of Al Mazrah. In the picture posted, the lights within the building are all turned on in the daytime with some of them varying in colors from each other. The lights for the same building on Al Mazrah were never on before, so this has fans assuming that a night map for Al Mazrah is coming somewhere down the line.
While there is speculation of one to come soon, there are also theories that the lights being different colors is tied to an upcoming Call of Duty Halloween event. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has never had a night map before, so the inclusion of one would definitely start a conversation within the player base.
Call of Duty isn’t afraid of taking risks by trying something new with content such as adding the TikTok NPC trend to Modern Warfare 2. Not only that, but the franchise also added several influencers such as Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, and Snoop Dog into the series as well. Including a night map might not have the same impact, but with it being a first for Warzone 2, it’s definitely something players want to see.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
